20 years without pay, protester on a sit-in at CRTV entrance

The songwriter of the generic tune which adorns certain programs of the national station of the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), started a sit-in strike on Monday, January 4, 2016, outside the offices of the national station in Yaounde.

With a radio and a carefully crafted banner, the artiste who claims his rights to the national station has arranged a place at the gate of CRTV.

For Isidore Modjo, the sit-in which was launched on Monday, will continue every Monday until he achieves his rights. The banner displayed before the national office by Isidore Modjo indicated that the artiste is claiming 20 years of his rights," from the national station.

The compositions of Isidore Modjo are followed daily on the airwaves of the national station. Among his works at CRTV, include the generic entry and exit of large radio programs as -Cameron Calling - Morning Safari, 1 pm and 5 pm news broadcasts and many others.

"The regularity of his songs are worth in terms of copyright, a minimum of FCFA 50 million a year," confided an expert to Aurore Plus in September 2014.
