42 dead, 55 missing among Cameroonian pilgrims in Mecca

The Consul General of Cameroon in Jeddah has revealed that there was an increase in the number of Cameroonian victims after the extensive research conducted by diplomatic, consular authorities and the delegation of Cameroon.

"On Monday, we counted 42 dead," he said.

The Cameroonian diplomat stressed that the most worrying situation at present is that there are a lot more who are still missing. According to Consul General of Cameroon, aside the continued search to find possible survivors, crisis meetings are held every night to take account of the situation.

In addition to the reported victims, he indicated that 55 people are still missing while a Cameroonian Pilgrim was admitted at the hospital in Saudi Arabia.
