The Court of First Instance in Yaounde, sentenced the former tax director and former Finance Minister, Polycarpe Abah Abah, to six years in prison, yesterday.
Abah Abah was accused of "attempted aggravated escape" in 2012, a judicial source informed APA.
Detained at the central prison for offenses of economic crimes, Abah Abah had, during May 2012 benefited from a meeting with his doctors to travel in the company of his captors, to his home to “retrieve a food package."
This bifurcation, considered by the justice as an escape attempt, then earned him a six-year sentence. The prison guards who had accompanied them also will suffer heavy disciplinary sanctions.
As a reminder, Polycarpe Abah Abah, who denounced a "judicial harassment", was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment by the Special Criminal Court ( TCS) for "embezzlement", on January 13.
