An attack, attributed to Boko Haram, in Achigachia has led to the death of two people, the abduction of four children and burnt houses.
The town was attacked by the Islamic sect on Thursday night.
"Four children between the ages of 5 to 10 years were abducted in Achigachia on the night of Thursday by members of Boko Haram," said our military source who requested anonymity.
"The attack on Achigachia village recorded two deaths. Houses were also burnt," he added.
Many peasants have fled the village to take refuge in a safe place as soon as the fighters of the sect, arrived.
Elements of the vigilance committee informed the army who immediately organized a response.
The day before, at Amchide in the Far North, a violent clash pitted elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (Bir). The sect's fighters had ambushed the army, our source informed without further details.
Over the years, Cameroon has suffered frequent incursions which are attributed to Boko Haram.
