Women's football tournament at the 11th All Africa Games in Brazzaville in Congo ends with an epic duel on September 18 as Cameroon faces Ghana in suspense to the final.

The two teams know each other well because they have repeatedly encountered in previous competitions. The most recent confrontation between these teams was last week in the group match at the African Games.

They were separated on a parity score 1-1. A few weeks ago, the Cameroonians had again defeated their rivals in the race for the Rio Olympics in 2016 after a draw (2-2) in Accra, which followed another score of parity (1-1) registered in Yaounde a few days earlier.

The final of the African Games in Brazzaville is in every sense a tantalizing display between two teams with 'glowing' record. The 'Black Queens' of Ghana have managed to qualify for the finals of World Cups in 1999, 2003 and 2007.

In seven African championships, Ghanaian women were finalists in 1998, 2002 and 2006, against a third place in 2004. By cons, their journey to Africa Games is less shiny. They account for a silver medal won in Algiers in 2007 and a silver medal in 2011, when they were beaten in the final by the Indomitable Lionesses (0-1).

After winning 2 goals to 1 (Thérèse Abena, 10 'and Ngo Mani 14' had scored for Cameroon before the score reduction by Onome Ebi to 48 ') in the semifinal, Nigeria, best African team for over twenty years, with nine (1991, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014) of the ten African Championships of Nations since the first edition in 1991 and seven appearances in the World Cup (1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015) against three Olympics (2000, 2004 and 2008).

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, eighth finalist of the Women's World Cup in Canada 2015, runner-up in Africa in 2014 in Namibia, hope to be able to maintain despite adversity, their gold medal gained at the African Games in Maputo, Mozambique four years ago. Ironically, it was against the Black Queens of Ghana.
