All components of the Cameroonian defense and security forces are working in a synergy to keep the enemy outside the borders.
Today, the Cameroonian defense and security forces have reaped numerous victories against the threat brandished in the national territory by the Islamist sect Boko Haram. On the ground, it is clear that these victories are to develop the assets of all of the components that make up these forces.
This led to the development of the new concept of ' interarmisation ', a neologism that takes its origin from the Cameroonian team. From Minawao to Mabass, Fotokol to Kolofata, Amchide to Limani, Mora to Achigachia, Kerawa, Dabanga, etc., everyone is on the front, they are advanced or have in depth training on military jargon.
And as noted by Brigadier General Frédéric Ndjonkep, Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region (RMIA3), "no component can boast of working alone. We succeed together, helping each other.”
In the Minawao refugee camp, the security of people and property is ensured both by the gendarmerie and the army. The Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), Special Forces of the Cameroonian army, continues to monitor (night and day) borders close to Mabass.
This is because that is where the synergy between the different bodies is most visible on the Kolofata battle field. Here, all components put together their efforts to defeat the enemy in a vast area which was long and repeatedly the target of deadly attacks.
Thus, the BIR, Bataillon blindé de Reconnaissance (BBR), the Régiment d’artillerie sol-sol (RASS), the national gendarmerie, Directorate-General of External Research (DGRE) are represented and ensure in a perfect collaboration, the security of the territory and populations.
In Bonderi, a town in Waza, it is the 41st Motorized Infantry Battalion (BIM) which watches over this border town which was repeatedly the target of terrorists. But here, too, the collaboration with the other components, including the BIR, is noticeable.
Many ongoing operations in the zone of conflict (Emergence 3, Logone 2015, Alpha) and soon the joint Multinational Force which is gradually taking place, in the opinion of General Jacob Kodji, Commander of the 4th Military Region Joint (RMIA4) is, "converging towards the same goal with complementary actions, in good coordination."
A few grunts by some soldiers are not likely to de-motivate them yet.
“As humans beings, it may happen that we feel a little tired, that we want to have better, work better, but this does not detract us from our commitment to forever defeat this enemy and to keep it permanently outside our borders,” noted a soldier.
