The members of the group "Turn the Page" who were arrested on Tuesday in the capital on instructions from the sub-prefect of Yaoundé II just scooped 15 days in police detention.
Those arrested included civil society activists and journalists in the exercise of their profession. Describing the circumstances of the arrest of members of the group on Tuesday, eyewitnesses reported that "police officers invaded the conference room, pulled, pushed, slapped, ripping T-shirts of participants ordering them to undress".
Finally, they took away Jean-Marc Bikoko, Agnes Adelaide Metougou, Jessie Bikoko, Ndjalla Epangue Yves and a journalist, François Fogno Fotso, the editor of the newspaper "Génération Libre" with its reporting tools.
The security forces confiscated equipment / journalists reporting tools and some participants who witnessed the arrest. We even saw a Divisional Commissioner hit the head of Jean-Marc Bikoko, according to the statement of Dynamic Citizen who demanded the release of those arrested.
