On the night of Sunday, January 3, 2016, a group of five heavily armed men kidnapped seven people in Saltaka, Mandjelé and Ouro-mal Nana villages located in the district of Ngaoundere III.
Alhaji Ahmadu Mansourou, farmer and cattle dealer and six other shepherds of the above-mentioned villages were taken to an unknown destination.
Various testimonies gathered by Le Jour with families, the administrative authorities of the third district of Ngaoundere and Gendarmerie Brigade of Vina in Ngaoundere where an investigation has been opened argued that "the kidnappers and their hostages might have gone to the Mbé Escarpment (cliff)."
According to the testimony of family members, the kidnappers said they were picked on the eve of the cattle livestock market in Dang.
