The son of Malloum Hamizou, Imam of the Cameroonian town of Mozogo (Far North) and a friend who came to visit him, died on Saturday night in the wake of an attack attributed to the Islamist sect Boko Haram, security sources.

In recent weeks, clasped by the Cameroon army in Nigeria as well as elements of the Joint Multinational Force of the African Union, the jihadist movement alternates nightly incursions and daytime bombings suicide attacks in the border towns of Cameroon and Nigeria.

Hours before Mogozo, members of a Kolofata vigilante committee, a town not far from Mogozo had neutralized a suicide bomber who, surprised in her game, blew herself up on the spot without killing other victims.

According to a report of Amnesty International, Boko Haram has killed some 400 civilians on Cameroon's land between January and mid-September 2015 in "war crimes".

The sect, as can be read in this document, "killed indiscriminately, destroyed civilian property, abducted people and used children for suicide attacks."

Contrary to this, the NGO also accused the military of Cameroon for "attacks on villages, destroying homes, killing civilians and arresting about 1000 suspects, some not older than five years.”

"These were serious events, including the death of 25 people in custody, have given rise to any serious investigation. There is still no news on the whereabouts of more than 130 people," Amnesty stated.
