At the invitation of the Kenyan Parliament, the Executive Chairman of the Pan-African Parliamentarians Network on Climate Change (REPPACC), Hon. Awudu Mbaya Cyprian, led a delegation of representatives from 38 African parliaments to the second Parliamentarians Summit on Climate Policy, from 11 November 2015 to 14 November 2015.
This summit brings together the Pan African Parliament, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), civil society organizations and other stakeholders to harmonize the African position on the slogan "One Africa, one voice, one position," a prelude of COP21 in 2015 in Paris.
Opened by the President of Kenya at the UNEP conference center, proposals will be presented to African heads of state as part of the ongoing negotiations on a new binding agreement on climate change to replace the Kyoto Protocol in December 2015 in Paris, France.
