After the President of the National Assembly, the southern elites, the senators of the Centre, Alumni of Enam come to ask the Head of State to be a candidate in 2018.
Recently, Cavayé Yéguié Djibril, President of the National Assembly, on November 6, 2015, signed on behalf of "living forces, internal and external elites, activists of CPDM including traditional and religious notables of the CPDM section of Mayo-Sava South," a motion calling on President Paul Biya to file his candidacy for the 2018 Presidential election. The text published in the press did not have the usual impact.
The silence was not short lived. On January 8, 2016, the "lifeblood" of the South prepared a motion of "respect and gratitude" to President of the Republic.
They expressed "deep satisfaction with the impetus given by the Head of State for a suitable and timely construction of infrastructure to house the 2016 Women and Men's 2019 AFCONs". They also expressed their solidarity with the people of the Far North region, victims of atrocities committed by the obscurantist of the Boko Haram sect.
But in this long text, there is one little phrase that sums up the whole message. These forces of the South region say they are renewing their "granitic support, total and comprehensive to the Head of State for future elections."
The document was signed by Martin Belinga Eboutou, the Director of the Civil Cabinet, ministers Louis Paul Motaze, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o, Jacques Fame Ndongo, Minette Libom Likeng Li, among others. Even if the signatories do not say exactly what it is due, we know that the next electoral process is in 2018 and that it is to appoint a president.
On January 20, 2016, the Central Region took over the South. During the presentation of greetings to President of the Senate, senators from the region asked Marcel Niat Njifenji to transmit to the President their wish to see him become a candidate in the next presidential election. For them, Paul Biya is the right risk for this maturity.
