Cameroonian politician, Anicet Ekane, has stated that the establishment of the Senate is a sham operation.

According to him, "the regime was concerned about complying with the new Constitution, but in reality the Senate does not represent much in its conception of power in Cameroon."

He added that since the Constitution was put in place, we should have prepared it all.

"When you look at the composition of the Senate, you will realise that people who have been appointed do not have a broader scope of the political and economic life of Cameroon," he said.
