Turkish and Cameroonian governments are currently working on three defense agreements, which should soon be signed, announced the Ambassador of Turkey in Cameroon, Omer Farouk Dogan, who recently ended his mission in Cameroon.
It was after a fair well meeting by the Minister of Defense, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o.
This defense cooperation, "whose fruit will soon be felt," said the Turkish diplomat, is on the fight against terrorism; a phenomenon which Cameroon has faced for several months, with repeated attacks and now suicide attacks on its territory by the Nigerian Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
So far, the Turkey-Cameroon cooperation focuses on investments in the productive sector and trade. With defense arrangements, Turkey will join alongside Cameroon, traditional partners such as France, Israel, China or the United States.
