According to the Association Care4, 80% of retired men die less than five years after their retirement, while 90% of them say they have serious problems, mainly at the level of the decline in revenues, and also their health and habitat.
The main cause of this failure is according to them, the poor apprehension and saving for retirement.
To avoid this kind of inconvenience, the Association Care4 created barely three months ago, a centre at the Omnisports neighbourhood in Yaounde to accompany pre-retirees to prepare for this retirement step, work for the welfare of pensioners and enhance the expertise of retirees.
It is in this sense that the Association organized a conference to launch its activities Tuesday. "Retirement is prepared from the first day we start work and now there is a structure to help them to prepare and to live their retirement in happiness. Another Center will emerge next month in Douala and progressively in the regions," said Benjamin Kisso, president of the Association Care4 which has to date 150 members.
The association also has the ambition to attract nearly 2,000 members by December 2016. In detail, Care4 aims to promote the expertise of retirement by the creation of a database of skills of retirees as well as to increase their income through the creation of income-generating activities and conversion.
