For the commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 2015 a Sino-Cameroonian meeting cocktail took place at the Sawa hotel.

This was an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the two countries in usability.

The Consul General of China in Douala, his Excellency Guan Ruoxun, thanked the guests for their participation in the ceremony of celebration.

The guests included Joseph Beti Assomo, the now Minister of Defense, who officiated as Governor of the Littoral Region. The cooperation between China and Cameroon has gone on for 44 years now.

It is a cooperation that the Consul illustrated through the multiple visits by the high authorities of the two nations: “President Paul Biya visited China four times. And this year, the Prime Minister went to our country in June. This shows that our relations are strengthened.”

Further evidence of the consolidation of the links is the three language centres for learning Chinese in Yaoundé, Douala and Bamenda where thousands of Cameroonians receive courses. Not to mention that every year, the Chinese government offers ten scholarships to nationals of the national triangle.
