Cold war resumes between the Houses of Parliament

President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji has said the Upper House "will defend its budget before its own commission of finance and budget" and in accordance with its rules of procedure, waking leadership that opposes war in the National Assembly.

This statement was made last Thursday on the occasion of the opening of the parliamentary session to vote on the state budget. While the Constitution provides that it is the National Assembly that votes on the state budget, the Senate draws its rules of procedure in order not to be overrun by the Lower House.
