The President of the National Assembly of Cameroon, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, has called on the Head of State, Paul Biya to stand for the presidential elections scheduled for 2018.
In a motion of support read on national radio late Wednesday afternoon following the celebration on November 6 of the 33 years of the highest office of the President of the Republic, the country's third personality is presented as the main signatory to this call on behalf of the Mayo Sava department in the Far North region.
In office since May 1992, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril has never clouded his attachment to the Biya regime, which came to power November 6, 1982 in favor of a constitutional provision then that the Prime Minister is the successor to the State's head in case of vacancy at the top of the country.
