More than 100 people have lost their lives and some thousands injured since the first suicide attacks in July.

Since the energetic responses of Cameroon defense and security forces gave trouble to combatants of the Nigerian Islamist sect in their different incursions in Cameroonian territory, terrorists opted initially for anti-personnel mines, before betting on suicide bombings.

The first suicide attack of its kind took place in Cameroon on July 12, 2015, at Fotokol. That day, two suicide bombers simultaneously blew themselves up around 7 pm. 20 deaths were registered.

While recovering little by little from this carnage, 10 days after on July 22, the northernmost region recorded its third and fourth suicide attacks, orchestrated by two women around 2:30 pm at the Maroua central market at a place called entrée ‘marché côté permanence’ in Bamare. The results stood at 19 deaths and 40 wounded.

On July 25, at pont vert in Maroua, Far North Region recorded its fifth attack around 7:40 pm which was as severe as the first. 21 people were killed and 62 wounded. And as if that was not enough, Kolofata city, in the Department of Mayo-Sava registered its first kamikaze attack on September 13, 2015, around eight o'clock in the morning.
