Adja Bello has been arrested on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at a meeting of the CPDM in Garoua. At the time of his arrest, the economic operator was in possession of a pistol inserted into his gandoura.
"When he arrived at the place of the meeting, he did not want to go where the metal detector was installed," reports a police source. "We suspected him, and the Commissioner went on digging, he discovered he had a gun in his clothes," continues our source.
Taken to the police before the meeting begins, Adjia Bello presented a fire arms permit which had been issued by the Minister of State, Marafa Hamidou Yaya at the time when the latter was the minister in charge of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation (MINATD).
The presentation of this document to the investigators did not give him the right to freedom.
"We want to know why he came to such a ceremony armed when the police were present to ensure the safety of all," says one of the investigators.
