Head of State’s Address to the Youth: Call to commitment at work

The Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya, has condemned youths who abandon their duty posts after recruitment.

This was during his address to the youth on February 10, 2016.

President Paul Biya noted that such youths who are after service numbers popularly referred to as “matricules” abandon their duty posts after recruitment yet, continue to receive monthly salaries.

The President referred to such people as "people who want easy profit and wealth" and called on the youth to "shun such attitudes."

He also called on the older generation to set the example for the younger generation.

This statement from the President follows after the Ministry of Public Service released a list of names of people who have abandoned their duty posts for over several months.
