The Minister for Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo paid a surprise visit at the military Hospital in Yaounde on Sunday to convey a special message from President Biya to wounded Cameroon soldiers.
Minister Assomo was seen at the bedsides of soldiers injured in the Far North region, comforting them and inquiring about their health status-something the Cameroonian people would have love to see performed by the dictator himself.
The Defense boss translated the deepest sympathy of the head of state to the servicemen. There are 118 wounded soldiers including three civilians evacuated from Maroua regional hospital to Yaounde.
Minister Joseph Beti Assomo during his stay at the military hospital said "Your commitment, your efforts and sacrifices for the defense of the Nation are highly praised by the head of the Army.
He asked me to convey to you all his encouragement, and through you, to all war victims throughout the country”. The MINDEF also commended the civilian and military personnel of the hospital for their dedication and professionalism in management.
