The double suicide bombings that occurred in the earlier hours of Sunday 13th September 2015 was executed by two minors at separate time intervals at the Jolisoua and quartier Latin neighbourhoods.

Reports indicate that seven civilians and the two suicide bombers were killed when the explosives detonated leaving more than twenty in bad state of health.

Reacting to this, the governor of the Far North Region, Midjiyawa Bakary visited the scene to access the attack and transmit the Head of State’s message of comfort to the victims.

The Governor who was accompanied by the Rapid Intervention Battalion also took time to congratulate the population for their vigilance and corporation with the forces of law and order.

On his way back, Governor Midjiyawa Bakary made a stopover at the Maroua Regional Hospital where medical teams have been deployed by the Minister of Public Health to attain to the victims.
