The new Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Likeng Li, has expressed displeasure in Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel).
During an outreach meeting with employees, she demanded Campost and CAMTEL to better their management for more effective contribution to state finances.
"CAMTEL and Campost will have to assist the state and not to relieve them as has been the case for some time," she said.
Recalling her employees experience at customs as Executive Director, where her passage was marked by several successes, Minette Libom Li Likeng prescribed research performances and results.
A managerial rigor as some former senior executives of CAMTEL, like Godfroid Ondoua Ella, Senior Engineer of off-scale telecommunications works, have already revealed to be a default to the company with public capital.
In a letter addressed to the Special Criminal Court (TCS) on November 10, 2015, Godfroid Ondoua Ella, stated that the incumbent, amid prevarication, displays an accumulation of debts in the amount of FCFA 600 million.
He also highlighted that "the squandering of hundreds of billions of CFA francs in deploying a wired network and / or submarine cables offering no guarantee of sustainability."
In October 2014, after the award to CAMTEL a rating considered as "complacent" BBB with a positive outlook on the long-term and AAA with a positive outlook in the short term, by Bloomfield Investment ratings agency, Godfroid Ondoua Ella had put potential investors care about the danger they were liable to inject their capital in a business without financial transparency.
