Over 700 possible members of the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram are imprisoned in Cameroon on charges of violence, reported the local prosecutor.

The Nigerian Islamists operating against the government and Christian targets to destabilize the region of Lake Chad are guarded by the army, the only force authorized by the Constitution, to judge facts of national security, the source added.

Some 150 Cameroonians were killed in the North during attacks by the Boko Haram, whose members offer money in recent times to girls from that region to detonate explosives in public places, according to military sources.

The teens accept bribes but are unaware that the bombs carried by them are activated by remote control when they get near a crowd, said the Defense Ministry spokesman, Didier Badjeck.

The last attack caused seven deaths this weekend in the town of Nigue Bourgade, added the official, whose forces in 2014 received legal support through legislative reform to face these actions.

In 2015, Boko Haram alone caused more than three thousand people dead but lost most of the territory under their control in Nigeria and Chad, which governments are now running joint operations against the militias of the sect in the vicinity of Lake Chad.
