The Minister of Communication and government spokesman, Issa Tchiroma, released a statement which describes the reaction and the stock of the Cameroonian government in the wake of suicide bombings in the late morning of that Monday at Bodo, a town in the Far North region.

Tchiroma made the announcement yesterday evening, January 26, 2015.

"Unlike indiscretions that earlier announced that three suicide bombers caused the casualties in the open market, the Government states that it is rather four suicide bombers; young girls that detonated their explosives at the market.

The provisional toll reported 32 dead, including four suicide bombers and more than sixty wounded. The injured were evacuated to the Makary district," said the Minister of Communication who later concluded by addressing to the families the condolences of President Paul Biya.

For three years that Cameroon went to war against Boko Haram, this is the first time it was struck by four quick suicide attacks with such a large number of victims among the civilian population.
