Three former employees of State owned companies; Seh, Abe and Essomba, who were demonstrating outside the Ministry of Finance since September 22, 2015 to demand payment of their rights, were arrested on Tuesday.
They were summoned to the Court of First instance in Yaoundé today, sources stated.
Cases of former employees of State-owned enterprises, restructured or liquidated, have lasted for more than 25 years. Hundreds of former employees have gone through the companies without ever getting what rightfully belongs to them.
In this case, former employees had informed the Prime Minister of their strike movement and public manifestation of dissatisfaction concerning the non-payment of the balance of their social rights and the conversion premium.
These former employees were arrested during the World Old Age Day celebrations.
