Twenty Boko Haram fighters were killed by the army during a fight this morning in the city of Amchide bordering Nigeria.
“The Cameroonian forces killed more than 15 elements of Boko Haram in the fight and aside the bodies carried away, we counted five more bodies at the scene,” said a security source.
Two other fighters of the Nigerian sect were killed last night by the army in other clashes in the town of Amchide said a military source.
According to other corroborating information relayed by the state media, an attack was foiled, in the city of Gouzoudou, Far North Region. The terrorists exploded around 6:30 am, near a river, without any other deaths recorded. "The suicide attack was foiled with the help of the vigilance committee," said the state radio.
Furthermore, an ex-sergeant of the Cameroonian army was arrested in Garoua (North) on Friday with explosives in his vehicle. The named Brahim Menoumour, who was arrested with explosives, had tried a few times to meet with the head of State of Cameroon, to negotiate the release of Chinese hostages.

The explosions left two suicide bombers with minor injuries. On September 20, a double bombing in the city of Mora, 85 km from Maroua, the capital of the Far North, led to 5 deaths.
The terrorists targeted the Mora town market. However, they could not reach their target thanks to the intervention of a police inspector who was killed in the bomb explosion.
