The Delegate General for National Security (DGSN), Martin Mbarga Nguélé, has announced that Cameroonian cities will be equipped with more surveillance cameras in cities this year.
This was one of the announcements he made to his employees during the presentation ceremony of New Year greetings in the great ceremonial hall of the Yaoundé police academy.
Currently, some large cities including Yaounde and Douala are equipped with surveillance cameras. According to the DGNS, in 2016, other cities will enter the network. The aim is not only to ensure the safety of people and property but also reduce wasted time and resources during investigations.
Furthermore, Martin Mbarga Nguélé welcomed the involvement of his men in the fight against Boko Haram nebula, while counteracting misconduct.
"Sanctions will always be inflicted with the same firmness, no respect of conduct detrimental to the image and honor of our bodies will not be tolerated. We must remain models," he said.
The police chief stated that this year, about 4,000 new recruits will take the path of training centers for training and anti-terrorism training courses.
Similarly, the Cameroon Police will renew or strengthen its logistics capabilities (modern facilities) and human resource.
