Two people were killed on Saturday night in the Far North, in several simultaneous attacks attributed to Boko Haram, KOACI learned from corroborating sources Community.
It was around 10 pm that Saturday night when armed men raided the Mozogo, Guéduioue and Mawa Rechercher and Mawa (arrondissement of Mayo-Moskota, the Mayo-Tsanaga department, the Far North region ). The attackers fired gunshots and threw explosives.
Panicked, residents tried to remain calm and stayed in their homes. Armed men attacked a shop by looting and burning it. Alerted by the arrival of elements of the army from Nguetchewe, the attackers who were suspected of belonging to Islamist group Boko Haram, fled with some herds of cattle.
The records showed that there were 2 deaths (two civilians), a burnt shop, and stolen livestock.
One resident who was contacted by KOACI said, "this was the incursion of some hungry elements of Boko Haram who were in search of food. They attacked a shop and fled upon the arrival of our valiant soldiers from Nguetchewe," said Marwhane.
This incursion occurred after the Minister for the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Defence announced that the area of "conflict was under total control by the forces of the Cameroonian forces."
Other security sources reported that heavily armed soldiers circulated the front area and in the surrounding villages.
