The President of the Republic, Paul Biya, received this Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 in the morning, the New Year wishes of the Diplomatic Corps and national constituted bodies.
As always, the ceremony was held at the Unity Palace in Yaounde. As always, members of the Diplomatic Corps were the first to wish a happy new year to their host. As always, the honor went to the dean to bring the voices of all members of the Diplomatic Corps.
And for the first time, Monsignor Piero Pioppo, Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea read in his capacity as dean, the speech for the occasion. In ten minutes, he expressed what he and his peers and had in mind regarding 2015.
From the outset, he congratulated the Head of State Paul Biya, through which, according to the diplomat, Cameroon remained a haven of peace, notwithstanding the insecurity at its borders.
“We congratulate you on your tireless efforts calling for patriotism, national unity, spirit of sacrifice by which peace and security continue to rule over this beautiful and peaceful country, despite numerous attempts at destabilization perpetrated by external terrorist groups, “said the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, and wished that the new year is conducive to all the people of Cameroon.
