Following the altercation between the people and the soldiers of the newly-installed base in the town of Wum, in the Northwest region, the President of the Republic has sent an inter-ministerial delegation on the morning of January 27, 2016, at the bedside of the wounded soldiers.

Joseph Beti Assomo and René Emmanuel Sadi respectively Minister of Defence and Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, carried to the people and the military the peace message of the President of the Republic.

"A budget of FCFA 500,000 was awarded to three of the four injured soldiers. One of the wounded soldiers did not receive the award of the Head of State. He is accused of having handed the dagger to his companion for the crime," the newspaper La Nouvelle Expression of this Friday, January 29, 2016, revealed.

Caporal Mvondo Athanase and second-class soldiers Dim Bang Bertrand, Tchingnaba Jean Bosco and Abessolo Ozie, are the four injured soldiers. René Emmanuel Sadi spoke of "the sympathy of the Head of State to the place of the deceased" but above all, his "disapproval of the non-respect of human life."

Indeed, the death of Leonardo Ngong motorbike taxi driver after a heated argument with Pierre Gaetan Akame Nkoo in a bar, pushed the population to ransack the premises of the military base in Wum on January 24, 2016. The casualties are one killed, several injured and army cars burned. " Corporal Pierre Gaetan Akame Nkoo and the late Leonard Ngong disagreed over a woman," a woman unknown to all.
