Seven new set of stadiums will be built in seven divisions between January and June 2016.

After a signed partnership agreement on Monday between FECAFOOT, regional and local authorities, the following towns were concluded; Bafia, Bafang, Bangangté, Bamenda, Ngoundere, Ngoumou and Sangmélima.

The ceremony was held at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaounde with attendance from Tombi A Roko Sidiki, the President of FECAFOOT, government members with head Bidoung Kpwatt, Sports and Physical Education and Mayors concerned.

FECAFOOT said they are committed to building stadiums and provide tractors to municipalities for the project. The regional and local authorities themselves will make available space and take care of maintenance and changing rooms forums.

"This is our modest contribution, as in recent years, President Paul Biya has instructed the government to develop sports infrastructure. The government cannot do everything, FECAFOOT had to make a modest contribution," said the President of FECAFOOT, stating that the objective is that "the professional leagues matches are not played on the dust."

Minister Bidoung for his part hailed this "act of citizenship that will enhance the championship organizing conditions."

This initiative comes as Cameroon, launched the preparation of the women and men's African Nations Cups in 2016 and 2019 with the construction or planning of stadiums.
