The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), released its first ranking of national football teams for the year on Thursday, January 7, 2016.
The release was good news for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. After declining in the last two monthly rankings, the national team of Cameroon won two places in the edition of this Thursday (57th, 2 up).
On the contrary, the team of South Africa, next opponent of Cameroon in March 2016 on behalf of the playoffs the AFCON Gabon 2017, lost two places (74th).
Atop the African hierarchy, Ivory Coast remains at the top (19th), followed by Algeria (28th) and Ghana (33rd). All three have stood still.
Belgium also maintains her top spot globally, ahead of Argentina and Spain respectively.
February 4, 2016, is scheduled for a new edition of Fifa ranking.
