Tombi A Roko has condemned “notorious incivility” and “lack of patriotism shown by players of the national selection flag in recent years.
This was based on the signing of the partnership agreement with ENAM on Monday, particularly the events on income in Marrakech (2011), and the case of refusing the National flag at the sidelines of the 2014 World Cup.
Tombi a Roko reiterated that footballers in general and especially younger ones must learn to observe, listen, respect others, accept differences, comply with strict and precise rules, work together to achieve a common goal, accept defeat and failure, cultivate the sense of effort, surpassing oneself and above all, respect for the emblems of the Republics.
But “it is unfortunate that the picture given in recent years by the actors of the Cameroonian Football is the opposite of that reality and total betrayals of the education system,” he said.
He said that “the failures of the Indomitable Lions at the World Cup 2002 in Korea and Japan in 2010 in South Africa and 2014 in Brazil, or the scandal of friendly boycotted against Algeria itself after the LG Cup in Marrakech in 2011 “are the result of indiscipline, incivility and lack of patriotism out of the players."
He recalled in an illustration that the "case of the flag of Cameroon refused on the sidelines of the match – Moldova, June 7, 2014, in Yaounde."
Finally, he indicated that the partnership agreement between FECAFOOT and ENAM is for raising awareness and training of football players in compliance with ethical Olympic values and aims “to erase this Bad boys image of the Republic offered over the years by (our) footballers."
