After 14 days of Ligue 1, Benjamin Moukandjo is on the throne as the leading goal scorer with 10 goals.
The Cameroon striker over took Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, author of nine goals since the start of the season.
At 27, the native of Douala is trying to achieve his best year since the beginning of his career. Benjamin Moukandjo has not lived a simple childhood.
Fourth in a family of five children, he grew up in a modest environment. His father, financial adviser and his mother, Secretary to the Treasury, did not count their hours to improve the quality of life at home.
"My parents fought hard for us not to lack anything, even though at times it was difficult. Life in Cameroon is more complicated than in France," he recently told the FC Lorient official website.
He started with Kadji Sports Academy (KSA). From there, he went on to be a prestigious player like Rigobert Song, Carlos Kameni or Mbami Modeste.
"Benjamin is a future Samuel Eto'o, says Michel Kaham, the director of KSA. His playing style shows that he is a modern football striker. Bright, incisive, technical, unpredictable, with a burst of speed that surprises the goalkeepers."
