The 11th edition of the event has been extended from February 20 to 27, 2016, in Buea in the South West, said the president of the National Athletics Federation, Emmanuel Motombi Mbome on Tuesday.

According to several sources, the ongoing works in the host city of the race is the reason for this postponement, among others.

Buea will also welcome, from November 19 to December 3, 2016, one of the cities for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in ladies football.

Emmanuel Motombi Mbome nevertheless stated that the qualifying races for Mount Cameroon Race were underway across the country.

Godlove Gabsibuin (men) and Yvonne Ngwaya (ladies) had won the 20th edition of the event held last February 14, 2015.
