Samuel Eto’o has ended his short-term stint as interim player-manager at Antalyaspor and has been replaced by ex-Chelsea assistant boss Jose Morais.

Former Cameroon captain Eto’o took over the post last month and won two, drew one and lost two of his five games in charge.

The 34-year-old will stay at Antalyaspor and continue as a player.
The Turkish club announced that Morais, who assisted Jose Mourinho until his sacking as Chelsea manager, would take over.

The 50-year-old has signed a one-and-a-half year contract, Antalyaspor said in a statement on their official website.

Morais said the club, promoted last year, wanted to improve on their current Super Lig position of 11th.

“The first aim is to lift our position in the league,” he said. “This year, the club is celebrating its 50th birthday. We need to present something new to our fans as a gift.”
