Engaged in this season's African Champion League, Union of Douala has rejected AS Vita Club’s offer for Mohamed Djetei.
Franck Happy, chairman of the green and white of the economic capital, was a guest at a local television studio on Monday, January 4 unveiled his ambition.
"We intend to play the final of the Champion's league," he made it clear.
It is a surreal ambition that inevitably requires the establishment of a competitive team and with big personalities. Mohammed Djetei is among those whom Franck Happy is counting on.
Despite the various proposals that he said they have received from teams wishing to secure the services of one of the revelations of the last sports season, the President of the Nassaras Kamakaï, does not seem ready to let go.
"AS Vita Club of Kinshasa has proposed a budget of 14 million CFA francs loan for a one-year loan deal for Mohammed Djetei," revealed Franck Happy.
He said they rejected the offer because, despite the need for financial resources, Union of Douala aspires for a "sensational performance" at the continental level.
But to achieve this, the vice-champion of Cameroon must discard the preliminary round of the African champion's league against Nimba Utd of Liberia. In case of victory, they will face Zamalek of Cairo, a real mountain that will stand in the way of Unionists.
Recently convened for the first time in the senior Indomitable Lions, Mohammed Djetei arrived at Union last season from Douala International, a club that started in the Littoral regional Football League. The transfer had cost no kopek in the Union, due to a partnership between the two clubs.
