The electoral process at the Western Regional League took place peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015.
The police and gendarmes were deployed around the hotel, making the work of the elective general assembly of the League easy.
The work went on peacefully in the presence of Prof. Minkoa Che, Chairman of the supervisory board of the electoral process in the Western Region.
The atmosphere was calm, which is poof of what the consensus implemented by the highest authorities of the country, is on the west. It was therefore far from the fights and challenges which were encountered in the November 7, 2014 election that was canceled.
Samuel Wembé had the majority votes. Out of 41 delegates expected, 39 showed up. And 38 voted in favour of the single list validated against a spoiled ballot. Thus, the politician will officiate as president of the West Regional Football League for the next four years.
The first vice president is François Kouedem, also president of the Departmental Football League of the MiFi. The former Indomitable Lion, Geremi Sorel Njitap, though absent in this elective assembly was the second vice president.
