Armand Claude Abanda, the Resident Representative of IAI Cameroon (Institut Africain d’Informatique) received the award for best African entrepreneur for actions in favor of women’s empowerment.
He was presented during the Economic Summit of Women which took place in South Africa.
“It is an award that recognizes the work of accompaniment and empowerment of African women. This is a price that has requested a number of presets first nationally, on the sub-regional level, at the regional level and finally, yesterday was the final of the African level," said the winner on CRTV national radio during the 1:00 PM news of December 4, 2015.
The main actions that led Armand Claude Abanda to have this award were grouped into two programs: “Operation 100 000 women” which has trained 100,000 women in 10 years; and the training project of a million young children and women for the emergence of Cameroon in 2035 (MINJEF 2035).
“As the price was given to me last night, I dedicated it to Madame Chantal Biya who is the national sponsor of 'Operation 100 000 women' and national sponsor of the project MIJEF 2035. And also the support of Cameroon government through the honorable Minister of Promotion of Women, Prof. Abena Ondoa who necessarily supported this candidacy that had been identified by the Executive Committee of the African organization. I say a special thank you to two other members of the government, the Minister Ousmane Mey Alamine and Economy Minister Louis Paul Motaze for their support that were important to both of these programs," said the resident representative of IAI Cameroon.
In September 2015, Armand Claude Abanda announced that 2000 women had been trained under the project called MIJEF 2035 (a million young people, children, and women by 2035).
A figure already very encouraging. Everything, therefore, suggests that by the end of the year the number will go on widening.
