Henri Désiré Kamdem is a business man who has a good shot on digital terrestrial Television(TNT) in Cameroon.

He is also the only one selling decoders for receiving free channels of the TNT.

The receiving device includes a digital decoder sold at FCFA 10,000 and a rake antenna that costs the same. This equipment is manufactured in China and bear the brand HDK launched by that economic operator.

Its market is limited in Yaounde, the only city where the free TNT is already operational in households. Douala, the economic capital, is still in the experimental phase.

"We will deploy the decoders and free TNT will cover the national territory," says Kamdem whose company is based in Yaoundé at the carrefour Zoé. There is enough here to inspire other traders as the government is still experimenting in 1000 households.

So other homes can purchase the hardware to take advantage of technological developments in progress. Namely a better picture quality; not counting the large number of channels received for free.

With the free TNT, no need to pay any subscription to access the 30 channels already available in Yaoundé. These are essentially local media and some coming from abroad, like France 24, TV5 or BBC.

In this package, there are 12 channels of the bouquet which was launched in July 2015 by the government.

The surplus bouquet are offered by private operators who also have their equipment on the Mbankolo broadcast site in Yaounde.
