The American firm Frontier Strategy Group has published its 2016 ranking of countries from their resilience to external shocks.

According to the US firm, Cameroon arrives in 21st place in sub-Saharan Africa. The country is especially the first in the CEMAC zone in the rankings, ahead of Gabon (24th).

Once again, dominated by Mauritius and Cape Verde, which are decidedly African superstars different international rankings since last year, it charts confirms the recent statements by the CEO of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, during her first visit to Cameroon from January 7 to 9, 2016.

Indeed, we recall that Ms. Lagarde had welcomed the "very good results" displayed by the Cameroonian economy, thanks to "good resilience to the double shock" that is the fight against the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram, which is rife in the Far North of the country; and the decline in world oil prices, with revenues up 25% of the national budget.

For proof, according to the IMF, while the CEMAC zone posted an overall growth rate of 2% in 2015 (in 2016 it should reach 3.5% according to current forecasts, Editor's note), this indicator in Cameroon cumulative "to almost 6% over the last two years," said IMF DG during her visit to Cameroon.
