The Cameroon Ministry of Public Procurement has launched the first calls restricted to international tenders.

This is to award contracts for the construction of roads planned in the 2015-2017 three-year Emergency Plan which was started since last year by the Cameroonian government.

According to the texts of the Department of Public Markets, these contracts cover a total budget of 192.2 billion CFA francs, of which 178 billion CFA francs for the actual construction work, against 14.2 billion CFA francs for operations control work.

In total, we learn, the work will include the paving of 356 km of roads in five regions of Cameroon. These include the Central, South-West, the Far North, Littoral and East. The last two mentioned regions have the longest straight road in asphalt, with respectively 95 and 90 Km.

With a total budget of 925 billion CFA francs, the three-year Emergency Plan by Cameroon government aims to accelerate economic growth in the country and improve the living conditions of the population.

The emergency plan is based on projects in agriculture, livestock, real estate, health, road infrastructure, drinking water supply and street lighting.
