The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Planning (Minepat) has allocated an amount of 600 million CFA francs for the electrification of the Bélel village located in the region of Adamawa in Cameroon.
The renovation of the electricity network which begin in a few days will allow the connection of a dozen villages and help boost economic activities in this town in the Adamawa region.
Since its erection as a district in 1983, Bélel has been plagued by frequent unstable supply of electricity which contributes to the slowdown of economic activities in the locality.
To resolve this issue, generators had been involved, but only half of the territory benefits.
The electrification project in the municipality of Bélel extends to some 60 kilometers. At the regular session of the municipal council of the town of Bélel devoted to the budget vote, nearly 437 million CFA francs, the focus was on the electrification and water supply. This is another problem facing the Commune.
Regarding the provision of drinking water, FCFA 100 million was devoted for the restoration of local Camwater station.
These funds will be gathered with the help of special equipment and Intercommunal Intervention Fund (Feicom) and the new secretary general of the municipal council of the town of Béle, Ibrahima Nana.
