The Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna, has awarded the contract for the construction of a drinking water treatment plant to the French operator Veolia and its board engineering office, Seureca.
For a period of 5 years, this assistance will also include the construction of 58 kilometers of water networks and 63 more kilometers of pipeline for transfers including two pumping stations and distribution tanks.
An official source said the project has also proved that with a drinking water expected contribution of 300,000 cubic meters per day, the new plant will meet the needs of the population of the city of Yaounde.
