Fuel prices at filling stations have seen a significant drop January 1, as noted by KOACI.
In his New Year speech, the Cameroonian head of state announced a decrease of 20 FCFA francs per liter of super and 25 FCFA francs per liter of diesel, from January 1, 2016.
It was an order made effective by Luc Magloire Atangana, the Trade Minister, who laid down the rules for the application of this decline in fuel prices.
Thus, a liter of super decreased from FCFA 650- FCFA 630. Previously FCFA 600 per liter, that of diesel is now set at FCFA 575.
By cons, domestic gas remains at FCFA 6500, for a cylinder weighing 12.5 kg.
The taxi fare remains at 250 FCFA. However, many housewives have experienced a surge in prices during the period of the holiday season, like chicken which are produced locally.
