Mr. Jean Claude Meyer, Vice President of the European Banking Group called Rothschild, was received at the Unity Palace by Mr. Martin Belinga Eboutou, Director of the civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic on behalf of the head of State, on Wednesday late morning.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Deputy Secretary-General to the President of the Republic, Minister M. Séraphin Magloire Fouda. Approached by the press at the end of the interview, Mr. Meyer refrained from revealing the contents of their discussion.
The French banker merely expressed the esteem of the Rothschild Group to Cameroon on “its growth rate and its very enviable political stability before essentially indicating that the structure he represents is highly motivated in order to weave and to develop cooperation ties with our country.”
Graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and HEC, Mr. Jean Claude Meyer, age 70, is also the Administrator of the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), Member of the Artistic Board of the Museums of France and president of Cercle de la Bibliothèque Nationale de France
