Sosucam to produce 124,000 tons of sugar

Sosucam officials are hoping to reach a production of 124,500 tons of sugar after the 2015- 2016 marketing year was launched on October 26, 2015, for both sites at Mbandjock and Nkoteng.

These productions, which were substantially the same as in the last campaign, will be divided into white and golden granulated produce as well as white and golden Buchette, reported Le Quotidien de l’Economie on Monday, November 16, 2015.

According to the newspaper, "with a crushing capacity of 1, 5 million tons of sugar cane per year for a production installed sugar of 150,000 tons, Sosucam Mbandjock has a site of a modern unit a capacity of 100 tons of sugar cane (Tc) / hour. At Nkoteng, production is 220Tc / hour."

Louis Yinda, the CEO of Sosucam, said, "production prospects at the start of the new marketing year were excellent this year-end. The coverage of the needs of national markets will be optimally ensured until the end of the next campaign in June 2016, particularly during periods of Christmas and Ramadan in 2015 and 2016, for strong consumption."

Today, Sosucam displayed a turnover ranging between FCFA 50 and 60 billion for a marketing duty for 138 500 tonnes of sugar (cumulative 20,142,015 digits of campaign production and reserves of the company). The company intends to boost its production in the coming years.

In October 2015, Louis Yinda indicated that by 2017, the company's production would reach 170,000 tonnes. To achieve this, Socucam has made an investment of FCFA 110 billion, it said.
