Restitution of Looted Objects & Artefacts

Le Tangué,la proue de la pirogue princière Le Tangué,la proue de la pirogue princière

The issue of looted art and artefacts is very close to AfricAvenir's heart, not only but also because the Tangué of Lock Priso (see picture), the grand-father of AfricAvenir founder Prince Kum'a Ndumbe III, has been looted by the German colonial power in 1884 and is still being displayed in the ethnological museum in Munich which denies restitution.

Maybe better than any other, this topic uncovers neo-colonial power relations, racist arrogance and denialism of colonial atrocities as well as clear double standards.
