The forestry Regional Delegate and fauna of the Adamawa Region, Julien Desire Mbelley and Yves Kendem, forest control brigade leader have been accused by the public ministry and the National Union of Cameroon timber operators.
Both men were accused of consignment traffic for the transport of wood, and complicity in the current deforestation in the Eastern Region.
Since December 29, 2015, the public prosecutor in the Ngaoundere court opened a criminal investigation against the two employees of the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife.
This explains the reason the prosecutor called the two men in his cabinet on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
According to a source close to the investigation, the two leaders of the regional delegation of forests and fauna of Adamawa are cited as the brains of traffic waybills carrying wood into Chad and the northern regions and the Far North Cameroon.
It is clear from the hearing that the men received 250,000 FCFA per truck and were responsible for the structures in charge of wood processing in Ngaoundere.
